Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Subaeratus, 19 mm, 3.42 g, 5 h), a contemporary plated imitation, after 17 BC. DIVI F AVGVSTVS Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. M DVRMIVS / III•VIR Lion attacking stag to left. Cf. BMC 71, Cohen 1 and RIC 338 (for obverse) and BMC 63, Cohen 431 and RIC 318 (for reverse). Breaks in plating and somewhat rough, otherwise, about very fine.

This interesting contemporary plated imitation erroneously combines an obverse of the moneyer, M. Sanquinius with a reverse of the moneyer, M. Durmius
